Philosophy  

SMARTS stands for Students Maximizing Academic Resources To Succeed. This nine-week course is designed with the 21st Century learner in mind. Course topics include time management, organizational skills, communication, and collaboration. Because technology is such an important part of education and our lives, an emphasis will be placed on cloud-based productivity tools of the Google Suite to create documents, spreadsheets and presentations. They soon realize that learning and an education is their job and this class will empower them to be successful at that job.

Time Frame  
SMARTS is a nine weeks class open to all seventh graders.

Software
Cloud Computing = Google Drive (Docs): Document (word processor comparable to Microsoft Word), Spreadsheet (comparable to Microsoft Excel), Presentation (comparable to Microsoft PowerPoint),  Draw (comparable to Microsoft Paint and the Draw module in Microsoft Word.) Our Goal is to be paperless in this class.
